Spirit Run Distillery began the way most good things do — with a passion that refused to stay quiet.
Stanford is a small village. You know your neighbours. You can hear the Kleinrivier at night. Life moves at a different pace here, and that pace — unhurried, intentional, attentive — is baked into everything we make.
The Beginning
We didn’t set out to build a distillery. We set out to make spirits we actually wanted to drink — spirits with character, with honesty, with a sense of place. The more we explored the craft, the more we realised that the Overberg, with its extraordinary fynbos, clean air and agricultural heritage, was the perfect home for what we were building.
So we built it.
The Craft
Every Spirit Run product is distilled in small batches in our stills. We don’t cut corners. We don’t rush maturation. We don’t use artificial flavourants or shortcuts that compromise the integrity of the final product.
What we do use is time, attention and the very best ingredients we can source — locally wherever possible, ethically always.
The Range
From our clean, juniper-forward Original Gin to our richly botanical Sable, from our grape-based Vodka to our three-year Potstill Brandy — every product in the Spirit Run range is an expression of what’s possible when craft meets conviction.
We make spirits for people who care what’s in the glass.
